If you created the optional cloud-sync account, you can permanently delete it and its associated cloud learning backup. You never need an account to use Hanzi Roots offline.
Or email admin@qammko.ca from the address used for the Hanzi Roots account. Never send your password or a backup file.
Fastest option
Delete inside the app
Open Hanzi Roots and go to Settings.
Open Account & sync and sign in if needed.
Select Delete account and cloud backup.
Confirm the permanent deletion.
The app removes the Firebase Authentication account and its Hanzi Roots cloud backup. Progress already stored locally on that phone remains available offline.
Use the subject Hanzi Roots account deletion request.
QAMMKO will verify that you control the account email before deleting it.
If you cannot email from the original address, explain that in your request. We may need an additional, proportionate verification step to protect the account from unauthorized deletion.
What happens
Account data is deleted—not merely disabled.
Deleted
The optional Hanzi Roots Firebase Authentication account.
The account email and service-specific account identifier held for that account.
The associated cloud-backup manifest and learning-progress backup chunks.
Not controlled by QAMMKO
Learning progress stored only on your phone remains until you clear app storage or uninstall, subject to Android backup settings.
Manual backup files remain wherever you chose to save or share them until you delete them there.
Google Play purchase records are handled by Google under its own terms.
QAMMKO does not use account freezing as a substitute for deletion. If limited information ever must be retained for a legitimate legal, security, or fraud-prevention reason, that retention will be disclosed and limited to the required purpose and period.
